RK002 Volca Drum advice?

For the past few weeks I have been tortuously figuring out how to get this working, but I’m wondering if any other folks who have mastered using the RK002 to control the Volca Drum have some wise advice for a neophyte. I'm using (or trying to!) the Volca Drum MIDI Expander DUY.

I think I'm about halfway to where I want to be, but I’ll explain in more detail if there is anyone out there who could help me!

I had to get the setup ready for testing this t out (it has been a while) but it works like this.

Make sure the volca drum is in multi midi channel reception mode, start the volca with rec pressed and if one led is lit, press that led to make 6 LEDs light up. If that is the case, press REC to accept these settings.
Upload the following DUY to the rk002:

Connect the rk002 output to the volca drum and play it on channel 1 to have the drum channels respond chromatically
