RK-008 as USB Midi Host?

Hello. Apologies if this has been asked before.

I do have the RK-008 and ordered the RK-006. For a very minimal electronic/EBM/newretrowave setup I came to the Yamaha PSS A-50. This is a battery operated multitimbral mini keyboard with USB midi only. I want to sequence it the traditional way. The RK-008 would be perfect in that regard.

However, I was not able to get it to talk to the RK-008 directly via USB. I assume the RK-008 does not work as a USB midi host.

Is there a way to set the RK-008 to ISB midi host? That would be so awesome, because it would make the most minimal portable setup imaginable.

Hi Albert! Thanks for the swift response. I will try RK-008 + RK-006, that should work from what I read (RK-006 yet about to arrive).

Do you think it would be technically and theoretically possible to add USB Midi Host over USB-C port with the existing RK-008 hardware? (Independently from resources, priorisation, and demand)?

If not - do you think it is a good idea for the 2028 RK-008S? 😉😃

The RK-006 just arrived, and it works 😃👍 (RK-008 connected to RK-006 via midi, A-50 connected to RK-006 via USB and the splitter cable). So much fun! 🤩✌️
