Quick octave shift in event editor?

Hi all,
is there a quick key combination for applying octave shift to single note event? Didn't find in the manual nor discussions here, sorry for the dumb question 😄

Not really a quick octave change but you can do quick note increments / decrements in the event editor by pressing REC, which will make the note visible in the editor, then press ALT+INC or ALT+ DE to tweak the note number

Yep, that's what I did! Imagine how a boring job was issuing alt+clicks to transpose 2 dozen notes 1 octave down (in the middle of a longer sequence) 😄
And wondering if there was a more efficient way for issuing +/-12 semitones shift 😄

Maybe next time I'd be better punching CC's for octave up/down for the Nord Lead.

Well normally just choosing transpose +12 with ALT+5 and then doing a mixdown with ALT+3 would do the trick much faster but I guess you just wanted to transpose just a few notes.
With a little luck the explode function might help, if you apply explode on a single midi channel track it will try and extract all notes on separate tracks. Perhaps the note you want to shift is separate and you can apply transform on that track only

grit you guessed right, I wanted to transpose 8 bars out of a 16 sequence and was short of tricks. Quickest way would have been to split the sequence in two, transpose one half one octave up and rejoin all into a single sequence again. I guess it isn't currently possible to join two or more tracks one after the other, right?

We're really getting into 'calculatorwave' style here 😉 For arranging Track contents after each other you can use inter-Part copying. This is where you can move things around next to each other by means of concatenating Parts.

..I was just thinking (more as an experiment) you could perhaps do the CC trick you mentioned by duplicating the Track and setting a note2cc MIDI FX on that new track, with limited to specific keyrange, the RK008 will then send out the CC's on specific keys... quite something to sacrifice a Track/FX combo onto but who knows whis could lead to other nice surprises haha

Funny experiment indeed! Not bad for a "little" sequencer 😄 Anyway if you feel short of ideas for next f/w releases and find a way to add track concatenation* (aka split/join) I would be very happy! No pressure... 🤩

*Suggestion: it could be an option of the MERGE function, i.e. there could be a choice of standard Mixdown as it is, or Serial (or Concatenated) Mixdown whereas selected tracks are mixed down one after the other by track number order.

The 'problem' is a bit that the Part length is the main designator for concat length and mostly these Track operations would extend the Part space. But I sort of learned myself to reserve a few parts for operations like this, e.g.:

copy 8beat long working Part 00 to 01
make P00 16 beats long with loop extend on forehand
go to Part 01 (=8beats long )and delete unused tracks
copy P01 to P02
change stuff in P01
merge P01 and P02 (or the other way around if you want to have a different order)
copy Track from the resulting Part back in Part 00

I call it the '7 Point Part Technique' 😉

grit what about an option like "Copy from begin / Copy from End" when copying a track shorter than the destination Part?

Honestly this is fantastic, amazing, brilliant that the RK008 can do all this, but i think i've got a quicker and better way than the 7 Point Part Technique, what you do, and please don't take this the wrong way, yeah what you do is you press record and you play it in the way you actually want it, job done. 😄
