Can you set MIDI channel filters for individual ports?

Hello,

Something I am unclear on with the rk-006. If you want to filter out certain midi channels on the output side, can you do that PER PORT?

Say I wanted output port 1 to only send out midi channels 1, 2, 3. And output port 2 to only send out midi channels 4, 5, 6.

When the rk-006 is acting as a normal, 2-in, 10-out thrubox.

Is that possible?

Yes, that’s totally possible. You do it in the Filters section of the app/configurator, not the Outputs section:

Choose Filter1 (or another)
Applies to: TRS port
Direction: Out from RK006
Port match: 1
MIDI channel(s): make sure just 1, 2 and 3 are turned on

then choose Filter1 (or another) and do the same for output 2 / ports 4-6.

I always then choose Store boot rather than either of the user presets, so that it just starts up in this state every time (because there doesn’t seem to be a way to select a user preset without connecting it to a computer/phone each time).

to select (user) preset: press and hold the button until led starts blinking.
Then click to select the presets: OUT1..OUT10=ROM presets#1..#10, and IN1/IN2=USER presets #1/#2
To confirm the selection hold the button.
At next start, the RK006 will indicate the selected preset by flashing the corresponding LED.

albert Ha! Thank you! I totally thought the button only cycled through the built-in presets. Great news - this gives me many more possibilities 🙂
