MIDI Connection Switching

I'm currently using an ancient JLCooper MSB+ to perform physical switching from one MIDI port to another.
The Roland 8850 sound module has two MIDI inputs. Each input addresses a different set of instruments.
Yes, I could be doing program changes to bring up particular instruments but I find it convenient to have a familiar preset block of instruments for each MIDI port.
I'm wondering if the RK006 could respond to a CC or PC message and change the path of a MIDI In to a different MIDI Out?

In standalone/host mode the RK006 is setup as a big merger where you split out destinations via MIDI channel (and perhaps block channels to specific ports via the MIDI filter blocks). You can do routing with the RK006 if you use it as a MIDI interface but then it would require a daw or app of some sorts.
The switching you want to do is more RK008 territory; You can connect the keyboard to one of the RK008 inputs and the RK008 out1 and out2 to the Roland in1 in2. Then set Track output to one or the other port. Switching RK008 recording Tracks will switch output destination (and you would also be able to record all 16 channels on a single Track to playback on the Roland).
