If you have the RK008 connected to a computer and go to https://retrokits.com/rk008/settings the main two causes for not making a connection are these:
- You see a message stating webSerial is not supported:
-> You are using a browser which does not support webSerial (e.g. safari): Use another browser like Chrome or Edge
- You see a connection window, click on the icon but don't see a CP2104 serial device (the RK008)
-> You dont have the driver installed, under the serial icon are links to download and install the serial driver
-or-
-> You have not allowed webSerial in the browser's security settings, allow serial access for m th browser for the website.
If you needed to install a driver, after the install, the RK008/CP2104 should popup in the available serial ports. After connection is done generally the RK008 resets and is then linked to the settings page for backup and such.
There's also a BLE settings page version which you can use if you have paired the RK008-BLE connection with your PC (On mac you can go to 'audio midi setup', make a connection with the RK008 and then use use the BLE settings page ( https://retrokits.com/rk008/settings/ble/ ) to backup or restore music data wirelessly.
